Phillies Hot, Mets Not.
The Phillies won their seventh straight game against the L.A. Dodgers last night on a 3-0 complete game shutout by Phils ace, Cole Hamels. The Phillies hot winning streak is not the only good thing happening for Phillies fans, but the Pirates sweep of the Mets was even better. Now the Phillies are 4.0 games ahead of the Mets in first place of the NL East division. How great it is to be a Phils fan right now.

Uhh Brennam did you forget something important? Like the afct that the Mets lineup resembles a Tripls-A team on most nights?
ReplyDeleteThe rash of recent injuries, and now with not knowing what Jose Reyes status is, you got to be serious when looking at both teams, currently.
Up until a week they were both hoding a share of, or in first place by no more then a game.
So lets see what happends when both teams are healthy.
Adam Rubin, the Mets beat writer for the NY Daily News is reporting that JJ Putz will miss up to two months to remove a bone spur from his throwing arm.

Additionally, Bobby Parnell will now be the set-up man.
ReplyDeleteMaybe I'm crazy. But I'm not all that upset about Putz missing a couple of months. I might be more upset about him being back in time to blow the season.
